Collection
The goal for the International Poetry Library of San Francisco is to offer a definitive collection of poetry resources divided into areas: for lend, reference, and purchase. We will also provide several online catalog stations for visitors to look up titles and browse the internet for poetry related sites. While The International Poetry Library of San Francisco will have a healthy American poetry collection, it will specialize in collections that reflect the diversity of the San Francisco community. To this end The International Poetry Library of San Francisco will focus on Asian, Mexican, Latin American, African-American, Persian, Italian, Filipino, and Russian poetry titles. Special poetry collections will include: children, LGBT, and Anti-war volumes. Anthologies, journals, and reference material will round out the collection. As our collection grows, we will implement a database to aid in searches for specific titles.
Since our inception we've had approximately 4,000 volumes donated in addition to books grants and multimedia.
We are currently working on cataloging our entire collection for this site. In the meantime, you can see what we have at LibraryThing.
